Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga firstly known for its short emblematic abbreviation of VSOP had created the best impact. The film is directed by Rajesh and is produced by Arya’s home banner of The Show People. The film happens to be 25th film of Arya that also features Tamannaah and Santhanam in others lead roles. The film also features Vidhyuleka, Bhanu, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan and many others in important roles with Vishal appearing in a special cameo. D Imman has composed music for this film and this is the first time he is teaming up with Rajesh.
The film is about two friends – Arya and Santhanam who have been close friends rights from their childhood. Their lives take a change when girls enter their lives. Santhanam gets married to Bhanu and she opposes his friendship with Arya. Santhanam with a desire to have a happy life with his wife decides to find a good pair for Arya and this is when they come across Tamannaah. But again, things get complicated and how these buddies find a solution is the rest of this story.
First and foremost, the film is better to keep its tag of entertainer and there is no way to look up for the analysis is differentiating plus and minus. Director Rajesh has made this film with an attempt to make his comeback in a better way. Almost all his movies in the past have clicked very well in the box office and have indeed made a good win among the audiences. When compared to the previous films of Rajesh, the plot or story remains too simple and ordinary. Even the performances looks too normal and this isn’t a performance oriented film. It’s a casual movie where the actors give casual spell. Be it Arya, Tamannaah or Santhanam, they are good. Moreover, Santhanam gets the best scope to deliver hilarious witty lines. Tamannaah makes her comeback in Tamil cinema nearly after a year and her combination with Arya are good.
The first half proceeds with light moments and second half has entertaining moments as well. The climax portion involving the appearance of actor Vishal is good and enjoyable. When looking up for something in the technical aspects, the songs are just average and few numbers by D Imman are appreciable.
There aren’t much negative traits to mention here. There are few scenes that can be identified with the previous movie instances of Rajesh films.
On the whole, Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga is a passable entertainer movie that is more enjoyable in places.
Verdict: Especially for the comedy drinkers
