It is expected that there will be 5 films (‘Thaarai Thappattai’, ‘Kathakali’, ‘Gethu’, ‘Rajini Murugan’ and ‘Miruthan’) in Pongal contest. Among the five, kollywood sources have assured that 4 films will definitely be released for Pongal. The rush for capturing the theatre already started last week itself.
Despite, 5 films were released on 1stJanuary; it is improbable for those films to remain in theatres till 14th January. ‘Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam’ may be an exceptional. The theatres, in which ‘Pasanga 2’ and ‘Boologam’ have been released, are expected to be recovered within Pongal.
Generally in Tamilnadu, the theatres, in which, the new films are supposed to be released will not exceed the count of 1000. As a result of this, there is tough competition to capture the theatres. Theatre owners usually give importance to the films on which their regular producers and distributors belong.
As the successful of a film could be calculated within 3 or 4 days, the teams of those 5 films, try hard to reserve more theaters for their side to earn more within the Pongal holidays. Whoever could reserve the more number of theatres, they will definitely yield good fruits!
