The successful combination of Udhayanidhi Stalin-Santhanam-Harris Jayaraj proved to be a huge success in Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. Nearly couple of years after the release, Udhayanidhi is all set for the release of his next movie ‘Idhu Kathiravelan Kadhal’. Director SR Prabhakaran running straight from the success of Sundarapandian has come up with a comedy entertainer that stars Nayanthara in female lead. The album is a mixture of various musical genres and we bring you an exclusive look on the tracks.
What are so much fascinating and interesting is the mild instrumentals that are very well performed. Karthik brings forth an intense emotion and right feeling with his vocalism. Yugabharathi has done a neat work with his lyrical lines that are very placed by Harris Jayaraj.
Vocals: Harini and Harish Raghavendra
The song gets a top-notch melody and with the superlative singers Harini and Harish Raghavendra, it gets much enhanced. There is a slight touch of Carnatic panache and it is embellished with good instruments. Of course, you’ll not miss the usual style of Harris Jayaraj as the fill-ins stand as ample evidence.
Sara Sara Saravedi
Vocals: Balaji, KK, M.K, Srilekha Parthasarathy
Very often Harris keeps attempting for something different with at least a song in his album. When he was considered as a composer of great tunes of elite taste, he stepped onto the ‘Gaana’ song in Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. Similarly, he has a different show here with folk song that has a mix of western and southern flavour adds more intensity. Of course the singers – Balaji, KK, M.K and Srilekha Parthasarathy is indeed a flash point in this song.
Vocal: Aalaap Raju
Let’s have a flashback. Over the past three years, the combination of Harris Jayaraj and Aalaap Raju has been tremendous chartbusters. This is a song of pathos and the music director as earlier makes up for an impeccable piece of work.
Vocals: Jassie Gift, Jayamoorthy, Velmurugan
Despites the presence of some well established singers, the song takes little time to brew up. There is little slug in the track and it deviates from other tracks to a mediocre level. Well, it may take some time for the song to brew up and catch hold of our attention.
Overall, the songs in the album are catching up at its best and few may take some time to captivate our senses. Harris riding straight from the success of Endrendrum Punnagai does a magnificent job here and clasps the best tunes.
Verdict: Good and different one from Harris Jayaraj.
