2. Velai Illa Pattadhaari – Dhanush as producer and actor made the film at a decent budget and the distribution circle witnessed good profits. The film starred Amala Paul in female lead and musical score by Anirudh was a great pillar. Cinematographer Velraj made his directorial debut with this film.


3. Maan Karate – The film was produced at an approximate budget of Rs.11 Cr and business happened at Rs.30 Cr with distributors having a little loss of around Rs.2 Cr. 4. Manja Pai – A feel good family entertainer laced with humour and emotions that encompassed the values of family relations. Starring Vemal, Lakshmi Menon and Raj Kiran in lead roles, the film was a good hit.


5. Aranmanai – The family audiences made the film a decorous hit in box office. With an ensemble star-cast of Vinay, Sundar C, Andrea Jeremiah, Hansika Motwani, Raai Laxmi, Santhanam and many others, the film witnessed good reception.


6. Mundasupatti – A surprise hit you claim this film to be. A fantasy-comedy film focused on a village bound to superstitious beliefs that a person clicked in camera would lose the life instantly. Vishnu Vishal, Nandita and Kaali Venkat played the lead roles and Fox Star Studios promoted and marketed the film efficiently.


7. Sathuranga Vettai – If not for Thirrupathi Brothers, the film would have not touched such a great scale. The film is about conmen and their tricky plans that were laced with humour and emotions.  Manobala produced this film that marked the debut directorial of Vinoth with cinematographer-actor Natarajan aka Natty playing the lead role.


8. Yaamirukka Bayamey – A tale of horror and humour that was greatly celebrated among all centre of audiences. Unpredictable storyline with a difference in script with lots of humour made it more convincing and entertaining. The film starred Kreshna, Roopa Manjari, Oviya and Karunakaran in lead roles.


9. Goli Soda – The film was a stunner in box office and it was a delight to see it winning the best scores despite released with Ajith Kumar’s Veeram and Vijay’s Jilla. The film starred the same old cast of Pasanga and cinematographer Vijay Milton achieved the great status through this film. 10. Naaigal Jaakirathai – As the year proceeded to the completion, this was a cool entertainer, though mixed with tragedy at the end managed to win the hearts of family audiences. The film starred Sibiraj and Belgium Shepherd in lead roles.
